ALSO I AM SO EXCITED FOR THIS WEEKEND.

to further celebrate, i get to dress up all classy n shit and go to secret bars! one’s hidden behind a wall of kegs & you have to txt for reservations, one is disguised as a law firm & you must be on the guest list to get buzzed in, and another is underneath a restaurant, hidden behind a grass wall, and filled with Alice In Wonderland type decor.

family

Family. It’s strange what that word can mean.

Now that Matt and my dad have left, I really feel like all my family is gone. Or at least that’s how I felt when I was leaving my mom’s house the other day.

I’ve got 2 giant purple welts, multiple bruises, and various scrapes, cuts and scratches all over my legs because my little brother thinks it’s okay to push me around and steal and put blame on other people to get whatever he wants. Somewhere in his head is a twisted sense of morality that I don’t want anything to do with. And when I look at that kid, I don’t see family. He might be my brother, but he is not my family.

IĀ  figured the minute I left he’d probably start going through my stuff to see what he could take; so I packed up everything I had left at my moms house, and now it’s either in the trunk of my car, or stacked in boxes in Aaron’s garage. I’m never going to live in that house again. Ever.

I was feeling pretty down about the whole thing, Dad gone, Matt gone, Ben gone, Mom not caring about anything… But then Aaron came home.

Then I realized I do still have family here.

new thrilliams

Well, I’m finally an aunt! Cooper came into this world two days ago. A fresh new little Thrilliams. I almost can’t believe it!! I get to meet him sometime this week, I’m so excited =D I’ll post pictures.

Oh yah, not only did I get a nephew, but I also got a new sister-in-law on the same day! Matt ran off to Vegas, broke up with the girl he had been dating (via txt message) on the way, and then married a girl he’d met about 3 weeks prior. I’ve only met her once (before she was his wife) and all I really know about her is that her name is Yvonne, she goes to Notre Dame where she’s working on a doctorate in medieval studies or medieval literature or some shit- she’s a medievalist, and she’s married to my brother. Welcome to the family!

48 hr film festival

this year, i took part in the 48 hour film festival thing.

if you are unfamiliar with it: basically, a bunch of film makers gather in san diego and form groups to make a film with. each group draws a genre for the film they are to make, and everyone is given the same character, prop, and line of dialogue to use in their film. they run off, create a film, and turn it in within 48 hours. then they gather a couple weeks later, watch all the films and vote on the best ones.

this year the character was a Lance or Laura, an athlete, the prop was a ticket, and the line of dialogue was “please, keep it to yourself.”

i’ve never really done anything like this.. but it’s vic and lynne’s 4th year doing it and they’ve placed in the top 10 each year so far. they asked if i wanted in on it, i thought it sounded like a good way to spend my weekend, so i joined up with them and their group.

we pulled the genre mockumentary and were all pretty stoked for it. we ended up doing a stop motion film using candy as characters/ props. we called the film “48 Minutes” (when really it’s only about 4 minutes long) and this episode was on “the dark side of gummy bears” …yah idk. i have a feeling it’s gonna be a huge hit or miss, but it was hella fun to make and i even got one line in it as a gummy prostitute where i say “hey cutie, wanna grab a bite?”

anyway, i didn’t get a chance to see the whole thing with the editing and all the sound and everything, but today’s the premiere so aa and i are gettin fancied up to go watch it :D
